Vitamin D and Crohn’s Disease

Here is a very interesting article on levels of Vitamin D and the incidence of Crohn’s disease in New Zealand. As this article points out there is accumulating evidence that shows Vitamin D plays a role not only in Crohn’s disease, but possibly auto immune diseases. As Vitamin D directly inhibits the production of immune cells leading to this disease, it is critical that everyone with Crohn’s disease supplements with Vitamin D.
